Working as a key member of the Matchday Department and reporting to the CEO and Head of Operations, the post-holder will lead the planning and delivery of stadium safety operations, ensuring the welfare of supporters, staff, players and officials while maintaining full compliance with the Club’s Ground Safety Certificate and relevant legislation.

This varied role requires a calm, authoritative and detail-driven individual capable of making sound decisions under pressure and working collaboratively with internal departments and external stakeholders including Police, Emergency Services, the Safety Advisory Group and safeguarding personnel to uphold the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

The role is based at the Cledara Abbey Stadium and is delivered across an average of 20 hours per week over a 44-week year, including the preparation and delivery of all fixtures staged at the venue. The salary for this role is £22,000 per annum, pro-rata.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the planning and delivery of all matchday safety operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Club’s Ground Safety Certificate and relevant safety legislation.
  • Producing pre-match and matchday risk assessments and operational safety plans.
  • Managing, briefing and deploying matchday safety and stewarding staff.
  • Liaising with Police, Emergency Services, the Safety Advisory Group and other key stakeholders.
  • Conducting stadium safety inspections and overseeing matchday compliance.
  • Managing incident reporting, post-match reviews and safety-related documentation.
  • Supporting safeguarding processes and inclusive access requirements for supporters.
  • Contributing to staff training, development and continuous improvement of safety standards.
  • Designing and managing the Club’s matchday safety budget.

Attendance at all fixtures staged at the Cledara Abbey Stadium is required.
