Join the Football vs Hunger fight with Cambridge City Foodbank

Cambridge United are proud to be teaming up with Cambridge City Foodbank to support Football vs Hunger – a nationwide campaign using the power of football to help end the need for food banks in our communities…

Last year alone, Cambridge City Foodbank provided more than 17,000 emergency food parcels to local people – their highest number ever and almost double the amount from just five years ago. It’s a stark reminder that, even in 2025, too many of our neighbours are struggling to put food on the table.

As part of the collaboration, a new matchday food collection point has been introduced at every Cambridge United home game, located near the Junior U’s Kids’ Zone at the front of the Cledara Abbey Stadium on Newmarket Road. Supporters are encouraged to bring along essential food items, which will go directly to people in need right here in Cambridge.

There is a particular need of the following items currently:

  • Pasta sauce
  • Noodles
  • Long-life milk
  • Tinned meat
  • Tinned vegetables
  • Tinned soup

Click here for more information on what items to donate.

Please note that we can only accept non-perishable, ambient food that is in date. We cannot distribute alcohol, bottled water, medicines or infant formula. We also cannot distribute food that is chilled, damaged, opened, past its 'best before' date or packages of more than 1kg in weight.

The Club are also backing the Foodbank’s Winter Appeal – their most important fundraising campaign yet – which aims to ensure that no one in our city goes without life’s essentials during the colder months.

Fans can show their support by donating food or funds, and by spreading the word about the appeal. To see how you can help, please visit www.ccfb.org.uk.

Together, we can make a real difference. Together, we can end hunger in our city.
