Gillingham fixture designated Her Game Too Matchday

Next Saturday’s home game against Gillingham will be Cambridge United’s dedicated Her Game Too fixture...

Following on from International Women’s Day 2026, the club will use the match to celebrate women in football — whether in the stands, on the pitch or working behind the scenes — while also recognising that there is still progress to be made to ensure proper representation and opportunity across the game.

As part of the day, the club will welcome local girls’ grassroots teams to the Cledara Abbey Stadium at a heavily discounted rate. If you are responsible for a girls’ grassroots team and would like to attend, please email supporterservices@cambridgeunited.com.

Our Ball Crew will be made up of players from the Cambridge United Emerging Talent Centre U12 and U14 girls’ teams, while the winner of our recent Her Game Too Mascot competition will lead the team out onto the pitch.

In the build-up to kick-off, the players will wear Her Game Too warm-up t-shirts, while our Amber Belles and Her Game Too ambassadors will be around the ground with their photo frame for fans who would like to show their support for the campaign.

Several Cambridge United Women’s First Team players will also join the Men’s players in the Junior U’s Kids’ Zone from 2pm to meet supporters and at half-time, the club’s Emerging Talent Centre U8s will play on the pitch, while Lauren Webb and Lauren Rouse of Cambridge United Women will receive special presentations to mark reaching 100 appearances for the U’s.

Remember — there is still work to do to eradicate sexist behaviour. If you see or hear discrimination on matchday, please report it via the Football Safety App, the Her Game Too Report an Incident form, or by texting/calling the Club’s reporting number: 07456 056881.
