CB Groundworks 2025

Cambridge United supporters are invited to step onto the pitch at Cledara Abbey Stadium on 17 April for a special charity football match, hosted once again by long-time Club partner CB Groundworks...

Fans will have the chance to join forces with a selection of Cambridge United legends for a night of football, fun, and fundraising for Cambridge United Foundation and Ian Darler's, Cambridge Charity Fundraisers.

As ever, the match will feature a line-up of well-known former U’s, with this year’s participants including Josh Coulson, Warren Goodhind, Ian Miller, Michael Kyd, Liam O’Neil, John Taylor, Kevin Massey, Steve Fallon, Andy Beattie and more.

Kevin Johnson of CB Groundworks said, “It’s always a brilliant occasion and an important one too, generating strong support for two fantastic causes. We’re proud to play a key role in making it happen. We’d encourage people to come along, enjoy the match and see the legends and participants in action.

“It’s a great night all round, and there will be some excellent raffle prizes on offer, so do come prepared.”

Vicky Neal from Cambridge United Foundation added, “We’re excited for another memorable evening that combines football with fundraising, working alongside CB Groundworks and Cambridge Charity Fundraisers.

“We’re incredibly thankful to Kevin and the team at CB Groundworks for backing our work, helping us make a positive difference across the community. The event is always enjoyable and brings together people who share a love for both football and Cambridge United, while supporting our aim to address inequality across the city.”

Ian Darler said: “On behalf of Cambridge Charity Fundraisers, we’d like to extend our thanks to Kevin Johnson for his continued commitment to the CB Groundworks charity match, as well as to the former players who give their time to take part and manage the teams.

“The money raised will go directly towards supporting local causes and initiatives, helping to improve lives across the community.”

Entry to the event is £150 per person with limited spaces left, all proceeds will be divided between both charities. Participants must be aged 18 or over. To purchase your tickets, please click here.
