Following further medical assessment at a nearby hospital, it has been confirmed that Brooke has suffered a triple leg break and dislocation. She is scheduled to undergo surgery this week before beginning her recovery journey.

Brooke, along with everyone at Cambridge United, would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the wider football community for the many messages of support received. The club wishes Brooke a full and speedy recovery.

At the time of the injury, the U’s were 2–0 ahead after 28 minutes, with goals from Zoe Wood and Jade Bell. Due to the seriousness of the incident, the match was abandoned and will be replayed later in the season.
