Cambridge United can confirm that Barry Corr has left the Club by mutual consent following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season…

The 41-year-old first joined the U’s as a player in 2015 and went on to score 19 goals in 41 appearances across a four-year spell at the Abbey Stadium.

During his time on the pitch, Corr quickly became a fans’ favourite, delivering a number of memorable goals that remain etched in the memories of supporters.

Following his retirement from playing in 2019, Barry moved into coaching, initially taking on the role of Development Coach, where he spent two years helping young professionals make the transition into the senior set-up.

In 2021, he was appointed First Team Coach and has since played an integral role within the first-team environment, also stepping in as interim Head Coach on two occasions – in 2023 and 2024.

Across more than a decade of service to Cambridge United, Barry has made a significant contribution both on and off the pitch during one of the Club’s most successful periods in recent history, helping the U’s achieve two promotions.

Barry Corr said, “What a way to end 11 years at Cambridge United with another promotion. It’s been a huge privilege to represent our club for such a long time and to play a part in helping it grow as it undoubtedly has over the years.

“I’ve been fortunate to work under three excellent head coaches, all of whom have informed and helped shape my ideas and understanding of the game. While there’s definitely sadness in leaving, there’s also real excitement about what comes next, and I feel now is the right time to move on and embrace a new challenge.

“To the supporters - thank you. You’ve been incredibly kind and supportive to me from the moment I arrived at the club, and that support has always meant a huge amount to me. I’ll always look back on my time in our city and at our club with enormous affection and pride.

“Thank you for everything - Cambridge United will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Director of Football Mark Bonner added, “Barry has been an excellent servant to the Football Club for 11 years performing multiple roles both on and off the pitch and we thank him for his tireless effort.

“Having worked closely with him, I have seen first-hand the professionalism, work ethic and detail that has seen him contribute to multiple successes along the way.

“We part ways mutually as we both realise a natural moment to do so, allowing the Club to prepare for the new season and Barry to make the next steps in his coaching journey in the future. In closing, we wish him every success and look forward to welcoming him back to The Cledara Abbey.”

Everyone at Cambridge United would like to thank Barry for his outstanding service and contribution to the Football Club and wish him every success for the future.
