Matchday Guide: Cambridge Utd vs Morecambe

Ahead of Saturday's Community Trust Matchday against Morecambe, take a read of our Matchday Guide for all the off-the-pitch info you need to know...

  • Tickets

Fans can buy tickets for Saturday's match, which are available online, over the phone by calling 01223 566500 (option 1) or by visiting the Abbey Stadium Ticket Office.

Save money by purchasing your tickets in-advance of the fixture, as all prices increase by £2 when buying in-person on the day of the game.

Supporters can save time by selecting e-ticket delivery and scanning their way through the turnstiles via a mobile device. We are asking for supporters to ensure their e-ticket QR codes have a white background or have the relevant email attachment open to show the turnstile operator.

  • Abbey Helpers...

If you have any questions or queries on the day of the game, please speak to our Abbey Helpers who are wearing high-viz jacket and will be located around the ground.

  • Away Fans...

Cambridge United looks forward to welcoming Morecambe's travelling supporters to the Abbey Stadium, who will be housed in the South Habbin for this Saturday's game.

Tickets are still available for away fans to buy - direct from the Morecambe Ticket Office in-advance of the game or from the Cambridge United Ticket Office on the day of the game.

  • Community Trust Matchday

Saturday's game is the Club's Community Trust Matchday as we celebrate the Community Trust and the work they do in the local community.

All supporters are encouraged to “Bring a Pound to the Ground” to help raise money for the Club’s dedicated charity. Bucket collectors will be positioned around the ground ready to receive donations or alternatively, supporters can Text TRUST to 70560 to donate £10.

  • Marvin the Moose

Our resident mascot, Marvin the Moose will be strutting his stuff around the Abbey in the build up to kick-off, so make sure to say hello, give him a wave or stop for a photo if you see him out and about!

If somebody you know has their big day coming up soon, send us an email with all the relevant details to make sure it gets read out on the tannoy at half-time.

  • Club Shop & Ticket Office…

The Club Shop and Ticket Office is open from 9:30am until kick-off and then for a short time after the final whistle.

In addition to tickets for Saturday's game, the Ticket Office is selling Match Tickets for each of the final four fixtures of the season:

Away travel for upcoming away games can be booked from the Cambridge Fans United (CFU) kiosk near the Club Shop.

  • Turnstiles…

The Turnstiles around the Abbey Stadium will open at 1:30pm and supporters are advised to arrive early to avoid queues close to kick-off.

  • Match Programmes…

Our new-look Matchday Programme is on sale this weekend, produced in partnership with Ignition Sports Media.

Programmes are available to buy from the Club Shop and around the ground on Matchday for £3.50, with home and away supporters welcome to come and make their purchase.

Alternatively, individual programmes can be ordered online from the Ignition Sports Media website. Please note, online orders are not available for overseas delivery.

  • Food and Drink…

Hospitality demands mean that the Dublin Bar is closed to home supporters on Saturday, whilst the Abbey Arms extension and marquee will remain in-place before, during and after the game.

Food Outlets around the stadium will also be open and supporters are encouraged to use contactless payments which are available at all food and drink points. All food and drink outlets will open in conjunction with the turnstiles at 1:30pm. 

With the hospitality industry struggling with staff due to COVID-19, supporters may need to wait longer than normal for their refreshments, so please be patient remain patient and show understanding as staff do their best.

  • Travel…

There is no on-site car parking available at the Abbey Stadium and supporters are advised to use the Cambridge Matchday Park & Ride service.

Home and away supporters can take advantage of the Cambridge Park & Ride for a £2.50 Matchday return ticket from Newmarket Road Park & Ride, CB5 8AA.

The ticket is valid for one passenger only. However, if travelling with children, the normal £3 Park & Ride ticket is also available to purchase, allowing children under the age of 16 to travel free with one fee-paying adult.

For supporters who have difficult accessing public transport, the Club has partnered with Dial a Ride to offer home-to-stadium transport. For more information, please click here.

  • Pedal to the Pitch...

Pedal to the Pitch is an organisation that encourages football supporters to reduce their impact on the environment and cycle to matches. They are organising a ride for supporters ahead of this Saturday’s game against Morecambe.

They start at Cambridge Market Square at 1:30pm and leave at 1:45pm. They meet the next group at Cambridge Station at 2pm before arriving at the Abbey at 2:15pm. They journey length is 5.5km and takes around 30 minutes in total. With cycle racks in-place at the ground, there is no reason not to take part!

Supporters are welcome to bring their own bicycle, or Pedal to the Pitch can provide a bike free of charge. All are welcome, however any Under 18s will need to be accompanied by an adult and complete a short cycle skills test prior to the event.

  • Picturepath Visual Visitor Guide...

Cambridge United has teamed up with picturepath, to provide a visual visitor guide for supporters with an aim to help reduce anxiety for SEN Children.

All fans are able to benefit from using picturepath's visual timelines. The app based timelines will support fans, in particular those with additional needs and heightened anxiety such as autism, in preparation for and during their visit to the stadium.

The guides are available within the existing app that can be downloaded for free via your app store (Apple/Android), simply navigate to add routine, and then “visit with picturepath” to access the guides.

  • Supporter Safety…

U’s fans are asked to stay vigilant, aware and respectful to ensure that the Abbey Stadium is a safe place to watch football. Supporters are asked to follow the Club’s guidance and stay mindful of the possible COVID-19 related risks that continue to exist. For avoidance of doubt, if you are displaying COVID-19 symptoms or have tested positive, you should NOT travel to the Abbey Stadium.
