Cambridge United has officially welcomed its newest and youngest Academy intake, as this year's Under 9s signed up with the Club…

C. Kitteridge, H. Pope, J. Wild, T. Groves, K. Quartey-Irwin, G. Munoz, B. Griffiths, L. Riley, J. Ebanks-David, R. Clark have all been awarded Academy registrations to officially begin their Cambridge United journey.

"I am delighted to welcome our new intake of U9s for the 25/26 season," Foundation Phase & Pre-Academy Lead, James Nicholas said.

"This is a really exciting time for the players and their families as they embark on their academy journey at Cambridge United Football Club.

"The boys have played in a very tough games programme where they have continued to showcase our academy principles of being humble, honest & hard-working.

"Thank you to Jake Hammond, Steve Holmes and Sam Skinner who have all played an integral role in helping these individuals across the season. We also appreciate all the hard work that grassroots sides have done in getting the players to this stage.

"Lastly, but certainly not to be forgotten, is the commitment that the parents have put in and we appreciate the trust they have in us to help their sons realise their potential.

"I implore the boys to enjoy every experience that the academy programme provides and hope they can make some fantastic memories along the way."

The players signed their registration forms at last season's game against Leyton Orient, and enjoyed the opportunity to be welcomed to the Academy by the supporters and having their photo taken out on the pitch.
