Cambridge United have today filed its 2025 Accounts which show a loss on ordinary activities before tax of £3,736,772, an increase of £1,170,930 from the prior year...
Whilst turnover in the period increased by £941,701 (11%) to £9,246,327 because of increased commercial performance, costs increased by £2,112,631 (19%), from £10,870,468 to £12,983,099, primarily because of continued market costs relating to the First Team.

CEO Alex Tunbridge said, "Over the past year we have continued with our modernisation programme across the Club which has included infrastructure, operating systems and the supporter matchday experience. The period also saw significant focus on the development of the brand and identity, with the roll out of a new club crest taking place last summer.’’
‘’As a club we are conscious of the need to build on our history, protect our culture and values and seek to provide moments, memories, and friendship through football for our supporters. At the same time, we are passionate about helping change lives through the power of sport through our work in the community through the Foundation.
"Despite increased investment into the playing squad we were unfortunately unable to preserve our EFL League One status last season, despite increasing our commercial revenue streams by almost £1m. This situation further highlights the challenging financial landscape in the lower leagues at a time when the new Football Regulator is getting up and running.
‘’Although we were relegated the Club has continued to prioritise sustainable progress and development both on and off the pitch. We conducted a Football Review during last season to strengthen the football operations and create a long-term strategy to help give us the best chance of on field success.
"Off the pitch we have been continuing to explore the long-term position of the stadium, whilst deepening relationships with key commercial and civic organisations across the city - through 'United for Cambridge' for example. This is an important moment for Cambridge and its growth as a city, and as one of its key civic institutions the football club wants to play the most active part it can in helping shape its exciting future.
“We are very grateful as ever for all the support from fans, commercial sponsors, civic partners, our staff and all our volunteers.
“I am sure I speak for everyone associated with Cambridge United in thanking our owners Paul and Mark for their continued generous financial support of the football club, which has been funded by the means of equity investment.”
