Cambridge United Academy has entered into a strategic partnership with Bedford Town, aiming to strengthen local player pathways, elevate coach development, and broaden engagement with youth football across the wider local area…
The collaboration builds on recent momentum with partnerships between the Academy and local organisations, establishing a formal framework for top local talent to progress within the academy system while providing comprehensive support for local coaches.
Jake Hammond, Talent Identification Officer at Cambridge United, highlighted the mutual benefit of the initiative.
“From the moment we introduced a Development Centre at Bedford Town FC, it became clear that there was incredible potential for a formal partnership.
“Bedford Town’s youth setup is growing rapidly, and we have already seen numerous players transition into our system across various age groups. We are delighted to support their continued growth in every way possible.”
The joint leadership team at Bedford Town Youth Development - Head of Youth Steve Whitehouse and Operations Manager Chloe Pearson - emphasised the impact on both players and coaching staff.
“This exciting milestone brings significant investment to our coaching staff, ensuring our players receive top-tier guidance for their growth on and off the pitch.
