FAN GROUPS CUSP AND CFU POSITIVE WITH CLUB’S APPROACH TO TICKETING REFUNDS AND ALTERNATIVES FOR SUPPORTERS

Cambridge United fan representative groups, Cambridge United Supporter’s Panel and Cambridge Fans United, have both provided a warm response to the Football Club’s ticketing approach in the event of an early end to the 2019/20 season.

Today the Club released a detailed set of FAQs which lists options for supporters who have any outstanding ticketing, season ticket and hospitality queries – click here to read in full now. This followed the recent announcements by the EFL, which strongly indicate that further games in the 2019/20 League Two season are now unlikely to take place.

Cambridge United has canvassed the opinion of both CUSP and CFU throughout the process of deciding how best to approach the situation with both season ticket holders and supporters who may have purchased match by match tickets for any remaining games.

Nigel Browne, Chair of Cambridge United Supporters’ Panel commented: “CUSP panel members feel sure that most Cambridge United fans will be happy with these arrangements. It gives supporters an opportunity to help the Club through these difficult times and also recognises that some fans are also going through a worrying time of their own and may not be in a position to forfeit their money. We feel sure most fans will respond positively and help if they can, as they have done in the past. We are all in this together, United in Endeavour.”

Meanwhile Chair of CFU Trust Board, Robert Osbourn, added: "Whilst we understand that there is a lot of uncertainty, currently, I am pleased that the Club has moved quickly to offer options on these issues for fans. I look forward to seeing a further range of options as regards the new season, once the timing of things becomes clear.

“The opportunity for fans and the Club to forge a new partnership for the future is one which should not be missed.”
