PROGRAMME PREVIEW: LUKE BERRY
Cambridge United captain Luke Berry features as the main article in this evening’s programme and you can read a sneak preview of the interview here.CAMBRIDGE UNITED CAPTAIN LUKE BERRY IS LOVING THE RETURN TO COMPETITIVE ACTION AND FEELS THIS EVENING’S CLASH AGAINST THE OWLS WILL BE ONE TO SAVOUR.
Saturday saw the 24-year old lead the U’s out onto the field for the first time at the Cambs Glass Stadium during the 2016/17 season, and whilst the result may not have lived up to expectation, the atmosphere generated by the home support certainly did for Berry.
He said: “It was great to get back out there again and it makes a difference when it’s a proper League game too.
“The pre-season matches were great for both getting the minutes we needed and the chance to play against teams you don’t face every week, but nothing beats playing for points.
“We were slightly disappointed not to win the game against Barnet because we had focussed on taking the three points in the lead-up to the match, but we didn’t lose and we have got to build on that now.”
He continued: “The fans were loud and straight away you knew the season was back because the atmosphere was great. When we got the goal, they got even louder and we need that on the pitch to get us through the full game.”
