Cambridge United are pleased to announce significant developments in the leadership of its Women’s football programme, underlining the Club’s long-term commitment to the women’s game and the continued growth of its player pathways...
Following the recent announcement of the appointment of former Women’s Captain Gisela Otten as Club Director and Chair of the Women’s Board, the Club is pleased to announce the addition of Liz Pamplin to the Women’s Board.
Liz has been an integral part of Cambridge United Women for 24 years, and since the team officially joined Cambridge United three seasons ago, has taken on many roles within the team including Club Secretary, whilst supporting at training sessions and on matchdays.
She was recently recognised by the FA Women’s National League for her long-term commitment to both the Club and Women's Football with an Outstanding Contribution Award. Liz currently works for Cambridgeshire FA and represents the Club on the FA Women’s National League Board.
Liz Pamplin said, "I am pleased to be invited onto Women’s board to continue my long association with the Club, to build on the firm foundations we’ve established and try to help steer the next chapter for the women’s section."
In another exciting development, Charlotte Crisp, currently Head of Youth Development, will undertake the role of Women’s Team General Manager, being responsible for regulatory and operational matters.
Charlotte joined the Club in 2017 and has played a significant role in the development of the Club’s male and female pathways, which now engages over 2,000 players. A former Cambridge United Women’s player, she has also supported the Under 18s team during a successful first two seasons for the team.
Charlotte will now take up the position of Head of Female Football & Boys Youth Development, as the Club seeks to continue the growth of its player pathways and provide additional support and development of Cambridge United Women.
"I am delighted to have been appointed as Head of Female Football and Boys Youth Development, with responsibility for leading all operations of the Women’s team as General Manager," Charlotte Crisp said.
"This new chapter presents a great opportunity to build on the strong foundations already in place and continue driving sustainable growth and professionalism in the female game.
"I look forward to working with our dedicated staff, players, and wider community to enhance all operations that support long-term success and stability across all teams and programmes, both on-and-off the pitch."
The Club is dedicated to invest in building a strong, sustainable, and successful future for Women’s football.
