Cambridge United is proud to support the FA’s Play Safe campaign and will use our home match against Fleetwood Town on Saturday 20 September to amplify its safeguarding message...
Play Safe is a year‑round initiative that promotes the safety, wellbeing and voices of children and young people in football.
This Season’s Theme is Small Talk Is Bigger Than You Think. We encourage all adults linked to the game to start conversations, ask questions and listen so young people feel heard, respected and empowered.
At the Cambridge United v Fleetwood Town fixture we will:
- Highlight Play Safe messaging around the ground and on our matchday channels
- Invite supporters and staff to join simple conversations that help children feel safe
We pledge to make football safe, fun and inclusive for all young participants by always listening, talking and respecting their rights.

If you have a concern related to safeguarding on matchdays or within our youth football, please contact our Safeguarding Officer, Sarah King by emailing safeguarding@cambridgeunited.com or calling 07756286999.
