Kylian Kouassi pens loan deal

Kouassi Signing

Cambridge United are pleased to announce the loan signing of Kylian Kouassi…

The 22-year-old striker joins from Blackpool on a deal that runs until the end of the season.

A product of the Sutton United Academy, Kouassi spent time on loan at Bedfont Sports, Hampton & Richmond Borough and Chesham United during his early years at the club as a teenager.

After breaking through into the Sutton first team in 2022/23, he left the following summer for Blackpool. Kouassi made 19 League One appearances during his first year with the Tangerines, before joining Salford City on loan last season.

He now joins the U’s to bolster the forward line for Neil Harris’ squad this season.

“I am excited to be here” Kouassi said. “The project and where this Club wants to go was attractive to me.

“The manager has told me to come in, enjoy myself and score goals and I thought this would be the right fit for me. I can’t wait to get going and show the fans what I’m about.”

Neil Harris added, “I am delighted to welcome Kylian to the football club. I have been aware of him for a long time, and we are really pleased to get him in the building.

“He is a real handful for defenders, and we believe he will add a different dimension and strength to our attacking options this season. I look forward to working with him and helping him fulfil his potential, which will in turn help the team.”

Kouassi will wear the number 20 shirt and joins United as the club's 10th signing of the summer transfer window.
