Cambridge United have today completed the loan signing of Tottenham Hotspur defender Jubril Okedina until the end of the 2020/21 season.
The 20-year old arrives at the Abbey with his versatility to play several positions - predominantly right back or centre back - providing Head Coach Mark Bonner further defensive depth.
Captain of Tottenham’s U23s, Okedina has been with the North London Club since emerging at U16 level. Since then he’s played his way through the Club’s U18 development side, stepping up into their U23s at the start of last season as well as featuring and scoring in the EFL Trophy in recent seasons.
Already he has featured 11 times in Premier League 2, scoring three goals during 2020/21 and now joins the U’s in search of his first taste of senior football.
Head Coach Mark Bonner commented: “We are pleased to add Jubril to our squad for the second half of the season and look forward to overseeing this period of his development. This will be a good experience for Jubril as it’s his first senior loan and he offers us good competition and cover in the defensive unit.
“Jubril is motivated to push for a place in the team and his attitude, defensive qualities and athleticism make him a good addition.”
Okedina will wear United’s number 15 shirt.
