Following the U’s six game unbeaten run through January, Head Coach Mark Bonner and Wes Hoolahan are in the mix to pick up Sky Bet League Two monthly accolades.
Having already won the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month for September, Bonner is back up for nomination having led United to four wins and two draws through the opening month of 2021.
14 points from a possible 18 saw United move to the top of the division, with the U’s boss up against Nigel Clough (Mansfield Town), Keith Hill (Tranmere Rovers) and Mark Trueman (Bradford City).
The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
Meanwhile, Wes Hoolahan’s contribution to United’s stunning form also has the 38-year old in the running to win the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award for January. Two goals and two assists for the Irishman saw him play an influential role in amber and black.
Hoolahan is one of four nominations for the award, alongside Jordan Bowery (Mansfield Town), Devante Rodney (Port Vale) and Davis Keillor Dunn (Oldham Athletic).
The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
