MATHER LAYS DOWN CHALLENGE FOR AMBER ARMY TO HIT 1,000 IFOLLOW MATCH PASSES THIS SATURDAY

Cambridge United CEO Ian Mather has written an open appeal to U’s fans to continue their fantastic support on iFollow and surpass the 1,000 match pass milestone for the first time this weekend.

“Calling all Cambridge United fans, we are going all out for a season best take up on iFollow for Saturday’s match away to Scunthorpe United, and we NEED your support!

Given the extremely challenging financial times for all Clubs at this level, every stream of income into the Football Club, including that which we receive from iFollow is vital - so please believe me when I say your support could not be more highly valued and we really need it to continue.

The Club has already been punching well above its weight in League Two, with over 4,300 match passes sold so far, placing Cambridge United in the top seven for iFollow…which also nicely reflects our current League position!

However, for the first time this season we believe that for Saturday’s away trip to Scunthorpe United, the Amber Army could realistically surpass 1,000 match passes for a single game.

Following another fantastic display from the first team against Newport County at the weekend, and the fact that our previous away League trip to Exeter saw us register our highest match passes for a game yet (926), we have high hopes that U’s fans will be backing the first team in their largest numbers so far.

We’re able to analyse the data of those purchasing match passes, and it’s encouraging to see a good blend of both season ticket holders and non—season ticket holders, from not only across the country, but the globe, tuning in on a Saturday.

But for us to reach the 1,000 this weekend, we’ll require two things: 1. As many season tickets holders who redeemed their free code for Saturday’s home game with Newport (765), to buy a match pass, and 2. As many floating Cambridge United fans to buy a match pass as well, wherever you are in the world, whether that’s Histon or Hong Kong!

We hope that you’ve enjoyed the Matchday Live content being produced across all club channels to accompany the iFollow live match stream, and we’ll be sending our full media team up to Glanford Park this weekend to ensure a full catalogue of content is at your fingertips, allowing you to be at the heart of all the action both before kick-off, during the match and after the final whistle.

So please block out your Saturday afternoon in your diaries, enjoy the extra content and most importantly get behind Mark and his side at Scunthorpe this Saturday by purchasing your iFollow match pass and let’s get to 1,000!”
