CUFC CONTINUING TO EXHAUST EVERY AVENUE WITH REDUCING RISK OF COVID-19

At Cambridge United we feel it’s key to ensure the Football Club are as diligent as ever when it comes to reducing the risk of spreading Coronavirus.

Like all businesses during this pandemic, the Football Club is no different in putting in place increasingly important measures to make the Abbey Stadium and the Club’s Clare College training ground facility a covid-19 friendly environment, for players, staff and supporters alike.

AT THE ABBEY STADIUM...

As well as the government recommended guidance including the use of hand gel and track and trace QR codes for all visitors to the Abbey Stadium, the Club have also taken extra measures in recent months.

Cambridge United have been delighted to work alongside Shepreth based scientific and apparatus solutions company, Grant Instruments, who have provided the Football Club with the latest air disinfecting technology.

The AP360 Air Purifiers have been located subtly in each of the home and away dressing rooms at the Abbey Stadium, working to recycle the air and kill 99.95% of known viruses including Covid-19, which means the U’s are among a very small number of Clubs able to use both their regular changing facilities whilst remaining in accordance within safety and social distancing guidance.

AT THE TRAINING GROUND...

Additional measures have also been put in place at the Club’s training ground.

With restrictions resulting in limited use of indoor gym facilities and other indoor areas, the Football Club have therefore have put in place a marquee that can be specifically used for full team meetings and additional gym work by the first team players, whilst allowing the necessary air flow to travel through and reduce risk of spread of the virus. First team players also change across two rooms to ensure that full social distancing can be maintained.

OUR FANS...

Cambridge United would like to once again thank supporters for the manner in which they have adhered to the guidance published for those attending the Abbey Stadium on a match day.

The role played by supporters in following the precautions issued by the Club, which can be read by clicking here, has unquestionably played the biggest role in the successful and safe return of fans to the Abbey.

The Club’s groundstaff have also requested the Club thank supporters for the way they have used the additional bins on a matchday, helping to not only make the post-match clear up an easier and more efficient process but also in protecting staff.

We politely ask supporters to continue following that guidance to ensure we remain United in doing everything possible to fight coronavirus.
