FIRST TEAM PLAYERS SET TO RETURN TO THEIR ROOTS WITH SOCCER SCHOOLS

Cambridge United's home-grown first team stars are set for a return to their roots, as part of next week's Soccer Schools taking place at 14 regional venues this half-term holiday.

New signing Liam O'Neil, who returned to the U's in the most recent transfer window having begun his football career within the Club's Academy and grown up in Swavesey, will also be making his first return to the Village when he attends the venue next week. Along with O’Neil, the U’s squad now boasts a strong track record in local first team graduates as follows:

- Luke Berry attended Bassingbourn Village College.

- Leon Davies attended Impington Village College.

- Josh Coulson attended Netherhall School.

- Harry Darling attended Bottisham Village College.

As always Luke Berry and Josh Coulson, two of the club's longest serving players, will be sure to prove popular with participants aged 4-12 years old when they pay their regular visit to the highly popular holiday course next Friday.

Meanwhile,  Harry Darling and Leon Davies who both signed their first professional contracts and have made their first team debuts in the last six months, will also be returning to their roots having been brought up locally when they attend their respective venues.

Cambridge United's home-grown stars will not be the only players making their way across the region either, with a whole host of first team players including Uche Ikpeazu, Barry Corr and Will Norris also out in force on Friday to engage with those booked on to the week-long programme.

During their time Soccer Schools, participants will get the chance to quiz the U's in an exclusive Q & A, collect autographs and photographs and maybe even learn a new skill or two!

The Soccer Schools run from Monday 13th – Friday 17th February, from 9am – 4pm, with the U's operating a free early drop off (8-9am) and late pick up (4-5pm) service, designed to make it easier for parents.

The programme offers a fantastic combination of technical training, fun games and matches, with the coaches always on the lookout for any particularly gifted and talented players to join the club's Regional Development Centres.
