LOAN SIGNING: JAKE GOSLING
Cambridge United have today signed winger Jake Gosling on a six month loan deal from Bristol Rovers.
The 23-year old, who has represented Gibraltar on the international stage on 11 occasions, switches to the Cambs Glass Stadium until January and gives United boss Shaun Derry additional options out wide.
Gosling started his professional career at Exeter City in 2012 and made 12 appearances for the Grecians having graduated from their youth team.
The midfielder switched to the Memorial Stadium ahead of the 2014/15 campaign and played an integral role in their return to the Football League that season. Jake joined Newport County on a one month loan last season before returning to Bristol Rovers and once again featuring as the Pirates enjoyed promotion success to League One.
Delighted to now have Gosling on board with the U’s for the first half of the current season, Shaun Derry commented: “We’re very pleased to welcome Jake to our Football Club.
“He brings added variety to the options we already have, and is a particularly important addition following the loss of Harrison Dunk.
“Having had two years of success at his parent club Bristol Rovers, he will also bring a winning mentality with him to the Cambs Glass Stadium.”
Gosling is eligible to feature for the first time for the U’s in this weekend’s clash with Carlisle United at the Cambs Glass Stadium. Click here to buy your tickets.
