Two wins, two draws and just one defeat ensured the points tally kept ticking over, but it was at the back where the U’s truly excelled.
A standout defensive month saw the side strengthen their EFL-leading record with three more clean sheets, conceding just twice across March. As a result, all three nominees come from the back-line.
- James Gibbons – Continues to lead by example with performances full of heart and endeavour. Also scored the crucial winning goal against Salford City.
- Mamadou Jobe – Jobe has established himself as an ever-present in the centre of defence, and goes from strength-to-strength in his first full season in the EFL.
- Liam Bennett – Delivered a series of energetic, full-blooded displays, consistently impacting both defensively and going forward.
