Cambridge United are seeking to appoint Matchday Stewards to help play a vital role in delivering a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for all supporters...

Working as part of the stadium’s safety team, stewards help manage crowd movement, provide guidance and information to spectators, and support emergency procedures where required.

The role involves monitoring designated areas, ensuring compliance with stadium regulations, and offering excellent customer service throughout the event. 

Stewards act as the first point of contact for fans, contributing to a positive matchday atmosphere while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Key Job Outcomes:

  • To attend the match briefing as given by relevant members of staff and to understand the ticketing arrangements for each fixture. 
  • To properly sign on and off duty. 
  • To ensure that the online form is completed prior to next match indicating availability for work. 
  • To ensure that the area around the turnstile where deployed is clear of obstructions and operates freely. 
  • To correctly operate the respective ticket scanning device. 
  • To work with Safety Stewards on duty at turnstiles to prevent those people refused entry for any reason from gaining access to the Stadium. 
  • To comply with any instruction given by senior staff to close a turnstile if required to do so. 
  • Any other duties as requested by the Turnstile Supervisor, Match Day Safety Officer or Head of Operations. 
  • To attend and contribute (when required) to all CPD as required.
