U's stand with Together Against Racism campaign

Players hold Together Against Racism cards

Cambridge United stands with the EFL’s Together Against Racism campaign at this Saturday’s fixture against Bromley, 18 October 2025…

The initiative aligns with the Club’s celebration of Black History Month, which began on Monday with the launch of our fourth shirt - created in partnership with the Fitzwilliam Museum and Romsey Mill.

At Cambridge United, we believe football should be for everyone, everywhere. We’re proud of the welcoming environment you help create at the Cledara Abbey every matchday. But the wider game still faces unacceptable challenges. Last season, there were 141 reported incidents of racist abuse at EFL grounds and more than 5,000 cases online - likely alongside many that went unreported.

To help combat rising online abuse and safeguard players, the EFL partners with Athletia, a monitoring system that tracks public posts about players and officials across all EFL Clubs. The League also works alongside social media platforms and the Football Policing Unit to identify and sanction offenders.

There is zero tolerance for racism.

Those responsible for racist abuse can face up to five years in prison and 10-year bans from football stadiums. In the last season alone, 17 supporters were banned from their Clubs and 24 received police convictions for racist behaviour at EFL fixtures. Others were referred for restorative justice or remain under investigation.

Cambridge United is committed to reflecting the diversity of the communities it represents. We stand with players, coaches, supporters and the EFL in driving racism out of the game.

One Club. One Community. Together Against Racism.

If you witness racist or discriminatory behaviour, you can report it in any of the following ways:

We will act swiftly and decisively against anyone found responsible for racist or discriminatory actions, working with relevant authorities to ensure appropriate club sanctions and police action follow.
