Cambridge United can confirm that last night's FA Youth Cup tie against Walthamstow U18s was abandoned in the 65th minute following an incident which left two players requiring medical attention...
With the score level at 2-2, Cambridge United's Jordan Yakubu and La Sean Kemp were involved in a clash of heads, which required an extended stoppage before both players were taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital for further checks.
Thankfully, Jordan and La Sean were both released overnight and have since been cleared.
The club would like to thank the medical teams, match officials and emergency services for their assistance, and extends its best wishes to both players for a full and speedy recovery.
Further details regarding the rearrangement of the fixture will be communicated in due course.
