Cambridge United are pleased to confirm the extension of the Club’s long-standing partnership with the Mick George Group through to the end of the 2026/27 season…
Marking more than 14 seasons of collaboration, the local construction specialist will continue as one of the Club’s primary partners and remain Cambridge United’s Official Waste Management Supplier.
Under the renewed agreement, the Mick George Group will continue to provide sustainable recycling solutions across all Club facilities, supporting Cambridge United’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and achieving zero waste to landfill.
The extension also comes following the recent launch of the company’s commercial waste service across Cambridgeshire, backed by significant investment in plant and fleet to meet growing demand for sustainable waste disposal.
Since the partnership began, the Mick George Group has played an integral role in supporting the Club across a wide range of initiatives, including infrastructure projects, matchday operations, supporter engagement activities and charitable work within the local community.
The relationship has also spanned some of the most memorable moments in the Club’s recent history.
Head of Commercial at Cambridge United, Neil Rowe said, “I’m delighted to confirm the continuation of our strong and long-standing partnership with the Mick George Group, which will now extend into the 2026/27 season as the Club’s Official Waste Partner.
“All waste generated at the Cledara Abbey Stadium and our training facilities continues to be processed through their materials recycling facility, with a clear focus on achieving zero waste to landfill.
“Beyond their environmental impact, the Mick George Group have been exceptional supporters of the Cambridge United Community Foundation, consistently helping to drive fundraising initiatives over many years.
“We look forward to building on this special relationship as they remain a key primary partner of Cambridge United Football Club.”
Jon Stump, Joint CEO at the Mick George Group, added, “Our relationship with Cambridge United FC has grown into something truly meaningful over the years, built on shared values and a genuine connection with both the Club and its supporters.
“Since first becoming involved - and later as front-of-shirt sponsor - we’ve always viewed ourselves as more than just a sponsor, but as a committed partner and supporter of the Club and its community.
“Cambridge United represents a vital hub within the city, bringing people together in a way that closely aligns with our own business ethos. That shared sense of community continues to be a key driver behind our decision to extend the partnership.
“We are incredibly proud to continue as a primary partner and believe this extension reflects the strength of the relationship between the Mick George Group, Cambridge United FC and its loyal fanbase.”
