Knight and Harris scoop January awards

Ben Knight and Neil Harris with their Player and Manager of the Month awards

Cambridge United Head Coach Neil Harris and forward Ben Knight have been named the Sky Bet League Two Manager and Player of the Month for January…

The double accolade follows a flawless month for the U’s, who claimed maximum points from all five of their league fixtures to maintain the club’s upward momentum.

With the one-year anniversary of his arrival at United fast approaching, Harris was named the winner over nominees David Artell (Grimsby Town), Karl Robinson (Salford City) and Andy Woodman (Bromley).

Meanwhile, Knight has been rewarded for a sensational spell in front of goal by landing the Player of the Month prize.

The 23-year-old - who recently committed his future to United by signing a new long-term contract - was at the heart of the U’s attacking output in January, registering seven goal involvements across the month, including five goals.

Knight beat competition from Callum Paterson (Milton Keynes Dons), Ben Thompson (Bromley) and Shaun Whalley (Accrington Stanley) to claim the award.

The awards caps a memorable run of form for the U's, with full focus now turning to the remainder of the season and the challenge ahead.
