Celebrating 25 years of CFU this Saturday

Fans at the Cledara Abbey Stadium

This Saturday’s fixture against Crewe Alexandra will be a special occasion as we host our CFU Matchday, celebrating 25 years of Cambridge Fans United and honouring the memory of Robert Osbourn, former CFU Chair and lifelong U’s supporter...

Robert’s dedication, passion, and leadership were central to strengthening the bond between supporters and the club, and this weekend offers the Cambridge United community an opportunity to reflect on his lasting impact.

Ahead of kick-off, players will warm up in specially designed CFU t-shirts to mark the anniversary and to recognise the important role that CFU has played in supporting the club over the past 25 years.

During the day we will also be celebrating the three CFU members who took part in Challenge 25, a set of personal health-based challenges centred around the number 25 in support of the British Heart Foundation. Their efforts have already raised over £700, and supporters can help increase that total by donating here: www.justgiving.com/campaign/challenge25

Supporter Liaison Officer Dave Matthew-Jones, who was instrumental in the founding of CFU 25 years ago, will speak to the fans at half-time, offering reflections on how CFU began and how it has grown since. There will also be contributions in the matchday programme dedicated to the anniversary, the work of CFU, and the individuals who have helped shape it.
