Cambridge United are pleased to announce the renewal of its partnership with CB Groundworks and LSL Surfacing for the 2026/27 season, with both companies continuing their support as sponsors of the Newmarket Road End...

The partnership has continued to grow since CB Groundworks and LSL Surfacing joined the club, with both local businesses playing an important role in supporting Cambridge United both commercially and within the wider community.

Beyond their sponsorship support, CB Groundworks have continued to make a positive impact around the Cledara Abbey Stadium, with the team carrying out significant improvement works during the close season. This included the full renovation of Tea Bar 1 and the surrounding toilet facilities, helping to enhance the matchday experience for supporters ahead of the new campaign.

The work reflects the strong relationship between Cambridge United and CB Groundworks, with the company continuing to support the club through practical expertise as well as their commitment as a valued partner.

Alongside their work at the stadium, CB Groundworks has also become well known for its commitment to supporting local causes through initiatives such as the annual CB Groundworks Legends Match. The event brings together Cambridge United supporters, former players and club legends for an evening of football and fundraising, with proceeds supporting Cambridge United Foundation and Ian Darler’s Cambridge Charity Fundraisers.

The charity fixture has become a highlight of the calendar, giving supporters the unique opportunity to share the pitch with former Cambridge United favourites while raising valuable funds for organisations making a difference across the local community.

Both companies have shown incredible commitment to Cambridge United, not just through their sponsorship but through the wider support they provide to the Club.

"The work completed at the stadium during the summer is a fantastic example of the partnership in action. Improving areas such as Tea Bar 1 and the toilet facilities helps us continue to improve the experience for supporters visiting the Cledara Abbey Stadium.

"The CB Groundworks Legends Match is another brilliant example of the values behind this partnership. It brings supporters, former players and the wider community together while raising money for important causes across Cambridgeshire.

"We’re incredibly grateful for Kevin and the team’s continued support and look forward to building on our relationship throughout the season ahead."

Kevin Johnson, Director at CB Groundworks, said, "We are extremely proud to continue our partnership with Cambridge United. As a local business, supporting the Club and the community around it is something that means a great deal to us.

"Being able to contribute to improvements around the stadium has been really rewarding, and we’re pleased to have played a part in enhancing facilities for supporters.

"The Legends Match has also become a really special event, and seeing supporters get involved, meet former players and help raise money for fantastic causes makes it a highlight of the year.
