The agreement ensures the club will continue using Genie AI’s platform to handle its contractual paperwork, including player transfers, commercial sponsorships, and corporate agreements.
When the partnership launched last year, Cambridge United became one of the first professional football clubs to openly manage its contracts using AI. Twelve months later, the collaboration has become a key part of how the club runs behind the scenes.
Over the past year, Genie AI’s software has allowed the club to draft and review complex agreements using its own pre-approved language. This has cut down contract turnaround times from weeks to days, ensuring all documents remain compliant with English Football League (EFL) rules, including important safeguarding and equality clauses.
By streamlining the back-office admin, the partnership has freed up the club’s staff to focus on football operations, commercial growth, and the fan experience.
