Cambridge United are delighted to announce the signing of Ryan Bennett on a free transfer…
The 32-year-old centre-back joins on a contract until the end of the season following his departure from Swansea City last year.
Bennett arrives with an abundance of top-tier experience, having made over 250 Premier League and Championship appearances for the likes of Norwich City, Wolves and Swansea.
He now joins Cambridge United as the Club’s first signing of the 2023 January transfer window.
“I am really grateful for the opportunity,” Bennett said. “It’s a good Club and I’m really looking forward to trying to make my mark here.
“It’s a level I have played at before and I know it’s not easy, so it’s down to me to work hard and to get into the team. Hopefully we can push on this second half of the season and see where it takes us.”
Mark Bonner added, “We are really pleased to add Ryan to our team and his experience, quality and personality will make him an excellent addition to our team. I am sure that with a week or two's training, he will be game ready to make a really positive impact on us.
