No tolerance for discrimination at the Abbey Stadium

8 February 2022

Cambridge United has received complaints regarding discriminatory remarks from within sections of the home crowd in recent weeks...

Allegations of sexist chanting towards the Club’s own supporters and racist comments towards opposition players have both been received.

Cambridge United prides itself on its inclusivity and this behaviour will not be tolerated at the Abbey Stadium. The Abbey Stadium should be a place where everyone feels safe, welcome and part of the Cambridge United family.

Initial investigations into the alleged incidents have not identified the culprits, however, the Club will be taking a proactive approach at upcoming home games to ensure that should intolerant or discriminatory behaviour become apparent, that those guilty will be sanctioned appropriately with zero tolerance.

If supporters have any information they wish to share, please email the Club’s Supporter Liaison Officer Dave Matthew-Jones via dave.matthew-jones@cambridge-united.co.uk.
