Cambridge United can confirm details of the funeral for Simon Dobbin, which will take place on Friday 13th November at St Mary’s Church, Mildenhall.
The devastating news of Simon’s passing on 21st October was met with an outpouring of love from not just the Cambridge United family but the wider football family on a national scale, indicating just how fondly Simon will be remembered.
The funeral cortège will depart from G R Peachey & Sons office at North Terrace, Mildenhall at 12.10pm next Friday, travelling towards Kings Street, St. Andrews Street and the High Street, arriving at the church at approximately 12.25pm. From there, Simon will be carried into church for a private family service due to the current Covid-19 restrictions.
At approximately 1:00pm-1.15pm, Simon will be taken to his final resting place at Mildenhall Cemetery along the High Street, Kings Way and down to Thetford Road.
We know that many supporters will want to attend to pay their respects to Simon. The Dobbin family have therefore invited those who wish to bid him a final farewell, to line the streets along the route above whilst adhering to full social distancing - thus ensuring Simon can receive the send-off he deserves.
