FANZONE OPEN FOR SATURDAY’S FIXTURE AGAINST SWINDON TOWN

Cambridge United are pleased to confirm that the FanZone will be open for Saturday’s fixture against League Two high flyers Swindon Town, providing supporters the ideal area to soak up the pre-match Abbey atmosphere.

The FanZone, located at the rear of the South Habbin, was introduced for the first time at the previous home fixture against Forest Green Rovers and was popular with both home and away supporters on the day.

With a strong away following set to travel from Swindon on Saturday, the FanZone is sure to have an additional atmosphere and buzz to it and the Club is encouraging as many U’s fan to check it out as possible.

Introduced as part of the Club’s Next Chapter initiative and delivered in association with Cambridge Fans United and CUSP, the two supporter groups have combined to provide fans with an additional area to get together prior to the game and enjoy music, entertainment, food and drink in a safe and friendly environment.

The project is a working progress and the Club have assessed ways to improve it following the first match and have therefore decided to open the FanZone from a slightly later time of 1pm. This ensures that a larger proportion of supporters entering the FanZone are in attendance at the same time and spread less thinly across the course of the afternoon to improve the atmosphere on the day.

The FanZone offers a family friendly environment with Marvin the Moose on hand to make sure that all junior fans are well entertained too. The tea bar located in the FanZone will also be open to serve a range of hot and cold food items, whilst a cash bar will also be in place offering a range of alcoholic drinks and soft drinks.

A reminder, THE FANZONE IS TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE. Home supporters will not require a match ticket to gain entry and travelling fans from Swindon Town will also be welcome, but will require their match ticket to enter.

Get along and begin to enjoy your match day even earlier at the Abbey!
