U’s first-team players Harrison Dunk and Jake Carroll went full Hollywood and Berry recently all in aid of Premier Travel’s charity staff bake-off.
Premier Travel - which is a local, independent company with more than 80 years’ experience in the travel industry - challenged their staff to channel their inner Mary Berry all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
20 staff baked an array of mouth-watering cakes with Harrison and Jake on hand to mark their efforts out of ten and present the prizes to the winners.
Premier Travel are long term Club partners’ and sponsor the largest hospitality suite at the Abbey Stadium.
Premier Travel Director Paul Waters: “Many of our staff are true Cambridge United fans so it was very exciting to have Harrison and Jake judge our charity bake off. By the end of the tasting session, the players had definitely had their fill of cake. Macmillan is one of our charities of the year, so we were delighted to raise money for them through the competition.”
U’s Head of Partnerships Nick Fairbairn: “We were delighted to support Premier Travel in their fundraising efforts, it was a brilliant afternoon with some fantastic cakes to sample. Although the lads were very keen to be involved with the judging, we ensured we restricted their cake consumption ahead of an important game at the weekend!”
