PROGRAMME PREVIEW:

CAMBRIDGE UNITED’S EXPERIENCED FRONT MAN JABO IBEHRE IS FOCUSING ON THE POSITIVES, AND IS VERY CONFIDENT THAT AS LONG AS THE U’S CONTINUE TO WORK HARD THEY WILL REAP THE REWARDS.

Ibehre, 35, is keeping the faith that United are not far away from producing the end result they are striving for, and feels Tuesday’s performance against Exeter City had all the signs of a strong team in the making.

The striker said: “We focus on the positives in that we created loads of chances, we had great territory over Exeter for long periods of the match. We did everything Joe asked us to do, getting out wide and putting deliveries in. We do know that if we keep doing that then the chances will continue to fall our way and we’ll get our goals. From there we’ll reap the rewards as a team.

“It was frustrating on Tuesday night against Exeter. We knew we were going to be up against a decent side, who will more than likely be in and around the top end of the League come the end of the season.

“Everyone came to the party though, we all put in the effort, energy, the right amount of positivity in our play so then to walk away with at least the goal we felt we deserved was a difficult one to take.

“But like I say, we are not dis-heartened in any way. In every game so far we have left the pitch fully out of puff, knowing that we tried our hardest to get what we can. There is a great belief that we are not far away from doing what we want to do and that’s a big positive. It feels like we are very close”
