MATCH PREVIEW: GRIMSBY TOWN – HOME
Cambridge United return to the Cambs Glass Stadium hopeful of stretching their current unbeaten streak to six games, as they take on Grimsby Town in Sky Bet League Two.
The U’s narrowly missed out on a fifth consecutive win last Saturday in Blackpool, but secured a well-earned point to continue their climb up the division.
Victories over Newport, Yeovil and Accrington in the League and a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough in the Checkatrade Trophy prior to last week’s clash, mean United head into the clash with the Mariners tomorrow with the best form of any side in League Two.
Leon Legge and Brad Halliday are set to return from their respective suspensions, whilst U’s boss Shaun Derry has also received a boost from the treatment room this week as George Maris returned to training following a number of weeks side-lined.
Meanwhile Grimsby Town travel to the Cambs Glass Stadium looking for their first win in three Sky Bet League Two matches.
Paul Hurst’s side have made a steady return to the English Football League, following their successful Wembley win over Forest Green in May, and currently sit in 11th position on 17 points.
Striker Omar Bogle has certainly hit the ground running in League Two having bagged nine goals already in front of goal this season.
The Mariners lead the head-to-head record between the sides by 15 wins to the U’s 12, but the Amber Army will remember fondly the last time the teams met, which ended with United booking their place in the 2014 FA Trophy final at Wembley Stadium.
