FREE PLACES TO NEWCOMERS ON SOCCER SCHOOLS
Cambridge United Community Trust are aiming to further increase open-access opportunities for children aged 4-12 years old by offering a limited number of FREE places on the Elms Cambridge BMW Soccer Schools to first-time attendees.
With the club's Whitsun Soccer School Programme set to be rolled out at 20 regional venues between 31st May – 3rd June, the Community Trust will be offering a free place to 365 children who have never experienced a Cambridge United Soccer School before.
At least five free places will be available every day of the Whitsun Soccer Schools at every venue across Cambridgeshire.
The highly popular holiday courses have surged in popularity in the last 12 months and visits from first team players, inflatable football pitches, target goals and educational workshops all part of the exciting schedule that ensure participants are thoroughly entertained.
Meanwhile, the Cambridge United Soccer Schools in association with Elms Cambridge BMW also provide an affordable and convenient option for working parents during the school holiday.
This unique offer will become available at 4pm on Thursday 12th May online only at the following link www.cuyd.co.uk! It is expected to be extremely popular so if you are interested in experiencing the Soccer Schools action for the first time, be sure to secure a free place at your nearest venue as soon as possible.
Cambridge United Community Trust Manager Danny Kerrigan commented: "The Community Trust has three key themes: education, health and inclusion.
“Over the past few months the Soccer Schools syllabus has developed to include educational and health workshops, on nutrition, hydration and teamwork for example, meaning the alignment between this programme and the Trust’s themes is closer than ever.
“The final piece of this jigsaw is to make the programme as inclusive as possible, and this was the inspiration for the provision of 365 free places for the Whitsun holiday. We want as many children as possible to have the opportunity to experience our fantastic Soccer Schools!”
Meanwhile, Youth Development and Community Manager James Cutting added: “‘The Soccer School programme is incredibly exciting for us as it already has huge participation numbers, but has so much scope to grow further.
“Whilst we took over 8,000 bookings in 2015 we’re still only engaging with a small percentage of the children that take part in grassroots football in Cambridgeshire.
“This initiative will introduce 365 new participants to our programme to benefit from the technical, tactical, social and psychological areas of development that it offers.”
“The free places will also give parents a chance to sample the service that we offer, which we consider to be a combination of high quality childcare and high quality football coaching’’.
