Cambridge United fined by FDC
An independent Football Disciplinary Commission (FDC) has fined Cambridge United £7,000 (of which £5,000 will be suspended until 31st May 2017) for fielding an ineligible player (Ryan Ledson) in the Club’s Sky Bet League 2 fixture with Crawley Town on 9th January 2016.
Crawley Town won the match 1-0 with Ledson playing for the full 90 minutes.
The FDC also ordered Cambridge United to pay the costs of the hearing.
Chief Executive Jez George commented: “This was a result of human error and the situation has been dealt with internally.
“As a result the club have reviewed all processes and will be making no further comment on the matter.”
