U'S BOSS AHEAD OF MORECAMBE MATCH
Shaun Derry has commended the Amber Army for their support at the Abbey Stadium on Saturday afternoon, and is hopeful they can once again inspire the U’s to a win over Morecambe tomorrow evening (K.O. 7:45pm).
The U’s boss is eagerly anticipating the fixture against the Shrimps and the final midweek clash of the season, as United strive to push themselves up the League Two ladder with four games remaining.
He said: “As expected the fans were excellent on Saturday afternoon, and given that we are playing our final midweek match of the campaign, which always tend to bring an exciting atmosphere I'm sure we can expect much of the same against Morecambe.
“It was a frustrating afternoon against Carlisle, but I cannot argue with the efforts or application of the boys and maybe on another day it pans out differently.
“However, we won’t be down for long because that game has gone now, regardless of what we would have liked the result to have been.
“We have made great strides and whilst we still have the possibility of achieving the top seven, of course we’ll exert our efforts towards achieving it.
“We’ll train hard on Monday, and be right back to it on Tuesday night and that’s the beauty of football, you always another opportunity around the corner.”
