Matt Harrold joins on loan from Crawley Town
CAMBRIDGE United have completed the loan signing of Matt Harrold until the end of the 2014/15 season.
The 30-year-old centre forward joins the U's from Sky Bet League One side Crawley Town.
After initially plying his trade in non-league, Matt joined Brentford ahead of the 2003/04 season and went on to make 15 appearances for the Bees, scoring five times.
2004/05 saw Harrold join Dagenham & Redbridge then Grimsby Town on loan before returning to Griffin Park. The following season Matt joined Yeovil Town, finding the net nine times in 47 appearances for the Glovers.
August transfer deadline day in 2006 saw Southend United secure the strikers' services, with Matt spending the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons with the Shrimpers. He then joined
Wycombe Wanderers in September 2008, a two-year spell with the Chairboys saw him score 17 times in 73 appearances.
Shrewsbury Town were next for Harrold, he scored eight times in 35 appearances during the 2010/11 season before signing for Bristol Rovers in the summer of 2011. Following three seasons with Rovers, Matt joined Crawley Town in June 2014.
Commenting on the addition of Harrold to United's squad Head Coach, Richard Money, said: "Matt's a really good player and we're looking forward to working with him. We've brought him in to help us out and we believe that he can be an important part of our squad for the last part of the season.
