Youngsters shine whilst out on loan

27 November 2023

It was a tremendous weekend for Cambridge United's young players out on loan, with a number of highlights to share...

Academy graduate, Mamadou Jobe has got off to a brilliant start at Gateshead in the National League and played his third consecutive 90 minutes on Saturday in a 1-1 draw vs Southend United.

In the National League South, George Hoddle opened his account for St Albans, scoring their opening goal in a 3-2 victory against Maidstone United.

Hoddle wasn't the only youngster to find the net this weekend, as Amaru Kaunda scored a hatrick in his first start for Biggleswade FC in a 4-3 win vs Hadley FC.

Elsewhere, U21s Brandon Njoku and Dan Barton featured in a 2-0 win for St Ives against Berkhamsted, whilst Louis Chadwick and Gregg Sandiford both played 90 minutes for Royston in a 3-0 defeat to Barwell.

From the Under 18s, Liam Chadwick and George Scales featured for Cambridge City in a 2-0 defeat against Hinckley, whilst Dan Carey Evans featured for Biggleswade alongside Amaru Kaunda in their 4-3 win.

Finally, Ronan Ismaili made his Kemptston Rovers debut in a 3-0 defeat at home to Kings Langley.
