Host Families wanted for young players

15 January 2023

Cambridge United Football Club are seeking to recruit Accommodation Providers for youth team players in the local area as part of our host family provision...

Lodgings should provide good quality accommodation in a designated area providing a safe, family environment for young people who may be moving away from home for the first time. This is a real opportunity to be part of a young person’s journey. Accommodation location requires easy access to the Abbey Stadium and to Clare College Sportsground by bike or by public transport.

Accommodation will generally be required from a Sunday evening until Saturday morning during the football season, with a break over Christmas and throughout June.

If you believe you can provide such an environment for our younger footballers then please contact Glenn Quirke, the Safeguarding & Welfare Officer by email to glennq@cambridgeunited.com for further information and a potential visit to assess the suitability of the lodging area.

Cambridge United Football Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all Accommodation Providers to share this commitment.

Accommodating young people is subject to police Criminal Records Checks (CRC) via the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) and additional safeguarding training with the club. This will include vetting at the highest level.

In addition, Accommodation Providers may need to demonstrate that the accommodation meets certain safety standards.
