U's icons Barry Corr and Wes Hoolahan have been added to the squads for the CB Groundworks Charity game at 7pm on Wednesday 10th May...

Long standing commercial club partner CB Groundworks are hosting an 11-a-side match at the Abbey Stadium to raise money for Cambridge United Foundation and Ian Darler's Cambridge Charity Fundraisers.

The charity kick-about which will feature a host of other famous Cambridge United names, including Ian Miller, Derrick Christie, Josh Coulson, Luke Chadwick, Andy Beattie, Andy Duncan, Robbie Simpson and Dan Gleeson, gives fans the opportunity to play on the famous pitch alongside former players.

There will be icons in the dug-out too, as Steve Fallon and Paul Wanless are confirmed as the two Managers for the game.

Kevin Johnson, CB Groundworks said, "We are delighted to be supporting two fantastic local charities with the end-of-season fixture on the hallowed turf of the Abbey.

"As a local company that has supported the Club for decades, it is a privilege to host this charity game that will see some of the best players who used to wear the famous amber and black shirts back on the grass. It is also great to give the supporters an opportunity to play alongside some of their heroes and show us what they have got!”

Vicky Neal added, "Cambridge United Foundation is really grateful to be part of this fantastic event. The two charities values align so closely and the Abbey Stadium is a home for so many in the local community, we welcome events such as this that bring people together”.

Ian Darler added, "We are delighted and thankful towards Kevin Johnson at CB Groundworks for putting on this event. Since 2007, Cambridge Charity Fundraisers have been working tirelessly to help change lives for the better so the money raised will make a big difference to the local community.

All spaces to play are now fully booked, but fans can watch the game from the stands for free - simply turn up to the Main Stand gates for a chance to watch the likes of Wes and Barry once again!
