The Week Ahead: Plymouth Away and Burton at the Abbey

16 August 2021

Cambridge United are back on the road this midweek to take on Plymouth Argyle at Home Park…

The U’s head to the South West for a 7:45pm clash on Tuesday before returning home on Saturday to face Burton Albion.

After a draw and defeat from the Club’s opening two Sky Bet League One fixtures, Mark Bonner’s team will be eager to post three points this week and get the season up and running with a victory on the board.

Tickets are still available to buy at advance prices up until 9pm on Monday. Matchday tickets, at an increased price, can be bought from Home Park on the day of the game. If you need a lift to the game, CFU’s Away Travel is available to book online.

For those who aren’t making the journey, stream the game live with an iFollow Match Pass.

Quotes from the Manager, the Match Preview and Talking Points will be posted on Cambridge-United.co.uk over the course of the following 24 hours.

This week sees the start of Cambridge United Community Trust’s Summer Activate Sessions, sponsored by AstraZeneca. Over the next three weeks, they will hold 27 multi-sport activity sessions for children & young people in Abbey, Arbury & Trumpington with a free healthy meal to take away.

Cambridge Sustainable Food will also be supporting the scheme by making frozen meals for parents.

If you would like to volunteer, there is still multiple opportunities to do so - whether that’s by picking up and delivering the meals or helping out at the sessions themselves. Email communitytrust@cambridge-united.co.uk to register your interest.

In Academy fixture news, the Schoolboys return this week with fixtures against Charlton Athletic on Wednesday and West Ham this coming Sunday, whilst our U16s & U18s face Luton Town away, following two draws from their opening two fixtures.

Cambridge United Women narrowly lost their first match of the season against Actonians on Sunday, but return home this weekend to play Enfield Town. Kick-off is at 2pm on Sunday at St Neots Town Football Club and all U’s fans are encouraged to show their support.

United in Endeavour.
