The Week Ahead: Into the thick of competitive action

9 August 2021

Following on from Saturday’s opening day draw against Oxford United, the U’s have two more games coming up this week…

First up is a Round One Carabao Cup tie against Swindon Town at the Abbey Stadium on Tuesday night, with tickets available to buy now.

Mark Bonner and Dimitar Mitov will be previewing the game later today and the Digital Matchday Programme will be available to download from Tuesday morning.

Then, on Saturday, United travel to Accrington Stanley for the first away game of the season. Find all the ticket and travel details here as a healthy travelling contingency looks set to make the journey.

Kai Yearn of Cambridge United Academy represented England U17’s last week and the feedback received from the FA Staff has been really positive about his performances on the pitch and his character off the pitch. He will be hoping that his performances will have helped improve his chances of making the U17 European Championship qualifying squad.

Cambridge United Women finished their pre-season on a flyer with a 7-1 win over Peterborough Northern Stars on Sunday. Next up, they get their league campaign off and running at 2pm on Sunday 15th August with an away match at Actonians.

Finally, next Tuesday’s game away at Plymouth Argyle will be available for supporters to stream with an iFollow Video Match Pass. Passes will be available to buy from Wednesday morning.
