INTRODUCING TONIGHT’S 12TH FAN…KAI BARRETT

We are pleased to announce the 12th Fan and therefore leading the U’s out at the Abbey Stadium for tonight’s fixture against Grimsby Town is Kai Barrett.

The Club are continuing the 12th Fan initiative for a second season in 2019/20, which sees one season ticket holder at each home match day rewarded for their support of the U’s.

The initiative, supported by Mick George, sees a Cambridge United supporter profiled on the Club website and match programme, feature in the U’s squad list as number 12 on the programme/teamsheet and lead out the U's at the Abbey Stadium on every match day in 2019/20!

The 12th Fan for this evening’s match against Grimsby Town is Kai Barrett, and you can read a preview of his interview in the Amber Rambler here.

How long have you been supporting Cambridge United? When was the first game you attended and what was it that hooked you to become a supporter of the club?

I've been supporting CUFC since I was eight years old, when I was a mascot against Burton Albion and we lost 2-1. I got hooked because the players were so nice and friendly to me.

Who is your all-time favourite Cambridge United player and why?

I have three favourite ex-players: Will Norris, Josh Coulson and Liam Hughes, these were the three players that made my mascot game so much fun.

My favourite players at present are Harrison Dunk, Luke Hannant and Harry Darling.

What will it mean to lead the team out of the tunnel on Tuesday night? How proud will you be?

Leading the team out is amazing and I will feel super lucky to be given the chance. I just hope we win.
