MATCH PREVIEW | PLYMOUTH ARGYLE – HOME

The U’s entertain high flyers Plymouth Argyle at the Cambs Glass Stadium this weekend in Sky Bet League Two, with bumper crowd expected for the exciting encounter.

Shaun Derry’s men will be looking for a return to winning ways against the Pilgrims, with the U’s Boss describing United’s recent results as a “shot in the arm” following consecutive defeats against Mansfield and Luton.

Despite this though the U’s are still only four points off the top seven and a win over Plymouth would move them back into the chase for the play-off places.

Liam O’Neil’s arrival on deadline day means the midfielder could be in line to make his debut, whilst Harrison Dunk has recovered from a knock to the ankle in last weekend’s clash at Kenilworth Road in time for this weekend’s tussle.

As for the visitors, Plymouth will arrive at the Cambs Glass Stadium this afternoon sat comfortably inside the automatic promotion places, having amassed 54 points and occupying second.

Despite their lofty League position, the Pilgrims have produced mixed results during their last ten fixtures, with five wins, four defeats and one draw.

Argyle’s leading goal scorer is Graham Carey with ten goals, one of which opened the scoring against United in the reverse fixture at Home Park in September, when the diminutive midfielder put the hosts 1-0 up with Jordan Slew adding a second and Medy Elito scoring a late goal to pull one back.

However, the U’s have lost just once on the road since that clash in September and their home form has also improved, with ten points from their last five on home soil.
