DETAILS REVEALED FOR #FOOTBALLFAMILYDAY FOR SHAUN AND JOEY

Tickets are now on sale for the #FootballFamilyDay, to raise funds for Shaun Whiter and Joey Abbs, on Sunday 9th October (1pm start) at the Cambs Glass Stadium.

Last week Cambridge United announced details about the event, in association with Cambs FA, as Newmarket Town, Soham Town Rangers, Fulbourn Institute and Cambridge City come together with Cambridge United to raise money in support of Shaun and Joey.

The pair will be in attendance at the #FootballFamilyDay to complete the semi-final draw for the tournament on the pitch, which will consist of two semi-finals, a third/fourth place play-off and a final.  All games will be 30 minutes in duration, so supporters will have two hours of football to enjoy.

Turnstiles will open at midday, the first game kicks off at 1pm and we anticipate the final finishing around 3.30pm. However, there will be entertainment and other events throughout the afternoon and into the evening.

A kid zone - consisting of Cambridge United’s inflatable pitch, Mick George’s inflatable goal and Chip in the Skip, and Marvin the Moose - plus post-match entertainment and auction in the Premier Travel Hospitality Suite is part of that schedule.

Cambridge United CEO Jez George said: “Our aim is to fill the stadium and raise a huge amount of money to make a real impact on Shaun and Joey’s lives following last month’s dreadful events.

“As we said last week, this is a fantastic opportunity for people from the local football family and the wider local community to come together for these two local players.

“It is a practical way of helping both Shaun and Joey. Already there have been many individual events and online donations through Just Giving as part of a real groundswell of support.

“This event is about getting as many local people as possible in the same place, at the same time for a public show of support, as well as raising a huge amount of money with every penny going towards Shaun and Joey.

“We want to fill the Cambs Glass Stadium, and would ask anyone and everyone to buy a ticket, attend the day and support two brilliant young men.  For those who can’t attend there will be a chance to donate the equivalent of their ticket price online.

“We will also have some corporate opportunities available through an online auction and anyone wishing to be involved on the day can also contact one of the four clubs detailed below.

“This day is all about Shaun and Joey. We want to make it a day for them to remember and a day that makes a huge difference for them in their futures.”

Hospitality Auctions

Five tables of match day hospitality are also available for auction. Each club will be auctioning a table in the Cambs Glass Hospitality Lounge, which offers a pre-match meal, entertainment and refreshments throughout the day.

Meanwhile individual places in Cambridge United’s Director’s Lounge will also be available for auction, with the top 20 bids given the chance to enjoy the Boardroom experience on the day, hosted by Chairman Dave Doggett.

For the Boardroom offer, or the Cambridge United table in the Cambs Glass Hospitality Lounge, email your bid to info@cambridge-united.co.uk.
