BLYTH JOINS U'S ON ONE MONTH LOAN

U’s sign Jacob Blyth on loan deal

Cambridge United sign Leicester City forward Jacob Blyth on a one month loan deal.

Labelled a powerful forward and an expert finisher by his parent club, Blyth moves to the Abbey Stadium to bring an additional spark to Richard Money's offensive options during a busy early season schedule of fixtures.

The 23-year old signed his first professional contract with the Foxes in 2012 as a 19-year old, having been prolific in non-league with previous club Leamington where he scored 17 goals in 37 appearances.

Blyth's first season at the Kingpower Stadium saw him continue his early development, as well as his impressive goal scoring ratio, registering six times in 11 appearances for the U21's.

In recent seasons loan spells with Burton Albion, Notts County and Northampton Town have seen the striker takes his first steps in the Football League.

An initial six month switch to the Brewers during the first half of last season gave Blyth a consistent run of Sky Bet League Two games, making 22 appearances and scoring five goals before a thigh injury ruled him out of playing any further part in an eventual Championship win.
